I fell into underwater maternity. My heart had always been called to weddings, but when I got my first inquiry for underwater maternity sessions, I said “why not?”. I had so much fun experimenting with fabrics and the serenity underwater brought that I’ve done a few underwater maternity sessions since. I think water accentuates the beauty and female-ness, so underwater maternity sessions are a natural pairing in my mind. Not to mention they are a wonderful thing to do in the summer, when it’s too hot to do any land maternity sessions!
That said, you are extra buoyant when pregnant and underwater sessions are not easy but are so worth it if you are a water lover. I’m told it takes pressure off your back and feels great. Lauron did a wonderful job during her session in making it look effortless, but I know that’s far from the truth!
