This summer I had a unique opportunity to be filmed by the national TV lifestyle show The List which does short lifestyle & culture segments on various topics. They wanted to do a segment on unique engagement photography trends, and stumbled upon my work! I can’t think of anything more unique and different than underwater engagement photos and was so jazzed (and nervous!) to be interviewed! Rachel & Robert, which you might remember from their Papago Park engagement session & amazing Sassi wedding, graciously agreed to be our models. Rachel used to do water polo so it was a great fit for her skills, and Rob is just awesome in general and would do anything Rachel asked of him. We had a blast shooting some fun photos and being filmed by The List crew in Scottsdale!

(Side note: I HATE how my voice sounds, so listening to this is like nails on the chalk board. I was so nervous that I sound a bit valley-girl-ish. Hopefully I sound intelligent enough! I get so nervous when video cameras are pointed at me! I was pretty much freaking out the whole day this was set to be filmed!)
Interested in doing an underwater engagement session? Find out more info on underwater engagement photos here! You can get a cheap dress at places like Ross if you don’t want to get a nice dress potentially ruined in the water, however, I’ve never had a dress completely ruined 🙂 My underwater season runs April or May through September, unless you have access to a heated indoor pool, in which case I’m happy to shoot year round! Next to weddings, underwater portraits are my FAVORITE thing to shoot. They are challenging, but so rewarding when you get beautiful, artistic & unique photos. Shooting in water is a very different experience from shooting on land and I love seeing the transformation for my clients. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, I include engagement sessions in my wedding packages, and you can upgrade your engagement session to an underwater one for a small fee.
