Shayla just graduated from NAU and wanted some casual, natural college graduation portraits. She’s an English major who is already teaching high school, which to me, would be by far the scariest to teach! I could tell that she is a great teacher though because she had a calm, cool demenor, but also I could tell that she didn’t take crap. Our mutual nerdiness & shyness meant we got along quite well! She was up for all of my crazy ideas. I love her whole body laugh- I like to think it’s because I’m funny, but I know I’m not. It’s not easy to just be 100% yourself when a camera is pointed your way, but Shayla embraced it.
Also, I think Arizona needs more fields like this. I have no idea what plant this is, but not 2 weeks after this session, this field was harvested and all of this gorgeousness is gone.
Shayla, thank you so much for being your beautiful self and giving me the pleasure of documenting that!
Summer is here with a vengence now, with tomorrow reaching around 116 degrees or so. If it’s above 110, I don’t even really want to know how hot it is. I’m pretty excited for pool season to kick into full swing though! Underwater photography is how I survive the summer, honestly.
