Can I just say how much I love underwater trash the dress sessions? Every time I do them, the dresses end up more clean than when we started- it’s not really trashing it! Valerie had recently got married in New Mexico, but regretted not having a professional photographer there to capture the day. The best alternative though, is definitely getting some awesome photos in your wedding dress, and I’m so glad she reached out! They did such an amazing job underwater. Being photographed underwater is challenging- you have to hold your breath, try to not drown, don’t make a puffer fish face, open your eyes, AND do whatever pose I’m telling my clients to do. It’s hard but so worth the effort when you come out with amazing images like these. We’re headed out to the Salt River this weekend for part two of our shoot with their 4(!) dogs, and I can’t wait!
My underwater portrait season is now officially closed with temperatures in the pool being too low to shoot comfortably in. I’m so sad, but so happy with the gorgeous underwater sessions I’ve done this summer and the amazing clients I’ve met. I’m headed off to an amazing underwater photography workshop in a few weeks, hoping to come back with some amazing new techniques and itching to get into the water starting next April or May, or sooner if I can find a heated pool this winter!
