Styled shoots are inspiration shoots put on by wedding vendors to show off new ideas, concepts they’d love to see more of in weddings, marketing for vendors and venues and also a creative outlet. When used for that purpose, styled shoots can be a fantastic way to accomplish those things. This styled shoot was put together with my good friend and amazing alternative, nontraditional Arizona planner, Sierra of Blackfern Events. Her concept was based around the movie Neon Demon- a visually interesting dark thriller about an aspiring model. We loved the fashion elements and lighting, as well as the 80’s vibes. Unique concepts in styled shoots is something that’s very challenging and I think Sierra & all of the vendors involved absolutely nailed it! From the non-floral light up wire bouquet (please catch on!), to the super rad real life couple Taleaha & Angie and the super modern and funky The Camby Hotel in Phoenix we hope it inspires many offbeat and nontraditional couples. In fact, it was featured on Offbeat Bride!
My particular favorite part of this shoot, besides the concept, was getting to play with colored split lighting reminiscent of the 80’s. It’s fun to get outside your comfort zone and expand your skills, and working with our amazing couple. I’m completely obsessed with their tattoos and hair! I’d love the opportunity to shoot at The Camby again, utilizing all of the funky & cool lighting, architecture and decor in a downtown Phoenix wedding. Contact me if you’re getting married at The Camby, I’d love to be considered for your wedding!
