The Briar Patch Inn in Sedona is a beautifully lush property along the Oak Creek just outside of downtown Sedona. It’s absolutely perfect for an elopement or very small intimate wedding like Marcus & Laura’s wedding. Marcus & Laura traveled from back east to have their wedding in beautiful Sedona in April which is one of the most beautiful times of year besides fall to have a wedding! I loved Laura’s classic & elegant touches throughout the wedding details. The classic pink & white rose and hydrangea bouquet from Sedona Fine Art of Flowers, her classic lace dress & veil, gorgeous ceremony arch, adorable white & flower adorned cake and prickly pear thumbprint guestbook. You can definitely have all the cute wedding details without a giant wedding! But more important than the details were the moments that happened with close family & friends. Everyone in attendance got to toast the couple, and there was no rush or stress because of the small size. After the cake cutting & toasting, we headed up to Yavapai Vista Trail with a stunning view of Sedona’s Red Rocks Park. The clouds actually helped add some drama & keep the sun from being too harsh as well. The portraits on the trail were some of my favorite portraits to date in Sedona! Afterwards, they headed to a restuarant reception & I headed back to Phoenix. Not a bad way to spend a Monday, in my opinion!
The awesome thing about intimate weddings & elopements is that you can have them be 100% your way. If you want to strip away all of the details, you can do that. If you want to have the details of a wedding like what Marcus & Laura did, but have it be less people and logistics, you can do that too! Small weddings and elopements give you the freedom to choose a nontraditional venue, cut costs and minimize stress. I have a great guide to some gorgeous outdoor Phoenix elopement location ideas, as well as a guide to planning your Arizona elopement if you’re thinking of skipping the big wedding stress. If you still would really like to have a bigger wedding (my husband & I still had a bigger wedding), there are some stunningly beautiful outdoor wedding venues in Phoenix to choose from.
