I’ve had the privilege of shooting Abby on and off since I photographed her older sister’s senior portraits 4 years ago. I loved watching her grow up! This Salt River spot held special meaning to her because this was the spot that her dad & her went horseback riding together. The Salt River is such a special place and I’m grateful for any opportunity to go exploring there. The stillness and peacefulness is what I love most- there’s just the gentle flow of the river and some birds in the background. The Bulldog Mountains are also my favorite backdrop- they light up so dramatically at sunset with reds and oranges and golden tones with the river below. Sometimes the wild horses show up to complete the experience, or you might see the nesting pair of bald eagles along the mountains and cliffs.
I told Abby that when she graduates from the University of Hawaii that I would be totally down for flying out there to do her graduation portraits 😉 I’m not sure I’d be able to get much studying there done if I was going to school in Hawaii; I think I would be skipping classes to go SCUBA diving or swimming with dolphins!
I’ve had an amazing season full of lots wonderful senior portrait sessions that I’m so excited to share in the next month! I can already tell that 2016 will be a fabulous year! Follow my instagram page if you’d like to see sneak peeks before I blog the full sessions!
