Outdoor Natural Wedding Venues in Phoenix & Arizona | Tips for Brides
Arizona is full of beautiful and varied scenery not just your typical golf courses & desert landscapes. When I got engaged, I searched high and low for the perfect venue- outdoors, in nature, but also with power and accomodations not too far away. As charming and beautiful as a guerrilla wedding in the woods somewhere random on a beautiful mountain vista sounded, it just wasn't practical for any wedding over 25-50 people that followed some of the wedding reception traditions. In my search, here are some beautiful natural wedding venues in Arizona I came across. I hope if helps you if you're planning on a beautiful outdoor wedding in Arizona's stunning landscapes! I will be constantly updating this list so check back if you're planning your wedding!
IN THE PHOENIX AREA
Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch is one of my favorite hidden gems of Mesa, AZ. It's a naturally gorgeous 1930's historic cowboy ranch- real cowboys- from when they were building the dam for Saguaro Lake. It has 20 casitas to house guests making it fantastic for anyone with out of town family & friends. It has 2 ceremony locations- the lower lawn near the river or the upper lawn near the cabins. It is an all outdoors venue and is away from most of the city lights so I bet you can see the stars pretty well at night! Plus check out those amazing Bulldog Mountains- what a stunning backdrop! I think this venue has a lot of flexibility in the "look" it can provide- you can do a very southwestern look, or keep it very natural and rustic without a lot of southwestern elements, or go very elegantly natural with a lot of beautiful greenery & flowers to really elevate the overal style of the venue. Prices are also very affordable. View more wedding information & pricing here: http://www.saguarolakeranch.com/group-corporate-events/weddings/
Windmill is a lovely little shabby chic/barn wedding venue with a lot of charm (and affordability) that's worth the drive! It's the perfect rustic barn wedding venue with a lot of space if you're having a bigger wedding! It has 2 ceremony & reception locations- the big barn and the lakehouse. Not into the barn/rustic look? Check out the lakehouse, it has a completely different look! More info here: http://thewindmillwinery.com/
The Farm at South Mountain Phoenix, AZ
The Farm at South Mountain is a favorite of mine! It has 2 outdoor ceremony & reception sites and is a working farm. View a wedding at The Farm on my blog by clicking the photo below!
The Phoenix Zoo, Phoenix, AZ
The Phoenix Zoo is an nontraditional, affordable and great venue especially for smaller weddings. They have all outdoor options for weddings less than 80 people and several indoor spaces for larger weddings. The Phoenix Zoo is especially wonderful during spring when they have some of the zoo lights up still! Check out Sam & Josh's fabulous Phoenix Zoo wedding here.
El Chorro Scottsdale, AZ. A little pricier, but a gorgeous venue with both outdoor & indoor reception sites!
El Paseo Mesa/Gold Canyon, AZ. This looks like a stunning venue, just opened, with gorgeous views of the iconic Superstition Mountains!
Schnepf Farms Queen Creek, AZ. Who doesn't love a cute farm wedding?
Getting married in Northern Arizona is a fantastic option for a summer wedding without the blazing temperatures of Phoenix. It is also home to some of the most stunning backdrops in Arizona.
This is where I got married, so I'm a bit partial :) If you want a DIY forest venue with some summer camp style cabins that can accomodate a lot of people (with less rustic accomodations next door at Kohl's Ranch and the surrounding area such as Christopher Creek), this is your place. It's not a traditional wedding venue because it's a summer camp, but that's part of the charm.

Kohl's Ranch Kohl's Ranch also accomodates weddings. Call for more information!
Watson Lake is a stunning natural place for your ceremony. For your reception, you could have it at any of the cute downtown restaurants in the area, at the surrounding wineries & ranches or even at Town Square in the center of downtown Prescott.
About 17 minutes away from Prescott is a beautiful little ranch (complete with an active polo field) called Van Dickson Ranch. It's a historic ranch with a lot of history and a beautiful country feel. It's also very affordable and the venue offers what I'm told is fantastic BBQ style food made on the premises. Hotel accomodations can be made in Prescott or Wickenburg.
Check back periodically as I add to & update this list! My goal is for this to be a great resource for people planning their weddings and are looking for more unique, outdoor venues in Arizona. I hope that helped you!
